dad in KL
hahah this was hillarious, i brought dad to midvalley megamall, it was his first time there and he was fascinated with their christmas decoration! hahahah.... i didn't get anything from there, was hoping Dorothy Perkins had some nice baju in my size (cause i got lovely tops before from there) but it seems they stop ordering size 20 from the UK... SO SAD MAN!!!
anyway, i brought dad practically everywhere, but in the end, i let him wait for me at MPH while i walked around....
decorations were amazing, i mean it's all candy-y and fantasy like.... like from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they had candy trees, ginger bread house, candy house... and loads of HUGE christmas trees...
not only us, but there were so many ppl taking pics! lovely.... while i was walking around the mall, sometimes there were performances by ppl dressed up as elves, or mrs santa or church choir singers.... i didn't stop to see them cause i had to rush and also there were so many ppl crowding around....
second family
i'm now in KL.... and i'm staying with Andre and his family... i'm so happy that i'm there with them. they have been wonderful to me, taking me in like i'm one of them, and i really appreciate them. they're like my second family and it's been wonderful!
it's nice to be in a homely home, especially when there's more of you - kids.. i've always lived in an atmosphere where it's just me and mum and dad... but now, there're other ppl in the family and it's different for me, a nice type of different, and i'm so thankful to andre for his offer...

FRIDAY - the worst day to be driving in penang
i got this in an office forward early this morning.... quite true also la... sigh...
Things to do this Friday. Legend has it that on this day, all cars in Penang Island will be moving at 0.2 miles/ hour, or not at all.
1. Fill up your fuel tank. Make sure it's sufficient for at least 5 hours on the road. According to unsubstantiated sources, the Shell near Bayan Bay has fuel that gives the best gas mileage.
2. Empty your bowel and rectum (or back passage). You don't want your car to smell, literally, like shit.
3. Trying eating bananas (not too much). It contains folate which helps concentration and memory. It also has a high glycemic index rating (how quickly can energy be boosted).
4. Avoid drinking any kind of liquid 1 hour before you drive.
5. Bring along your PSP, iPod, biology texbooks, poker cards, tarantula.... whatever can keep you entertained (or awake) in your tiny vehicle.
6. Famine kills brain cells. Stack up tonnes of instant food in your office AND in your car.
7. Call me up (not your mom, she makes you sleep). I can lend you my ears for whatever crappy personal stories you think the world should know. It's free. The call and "saman" are not.
8. If you started coming from Motorola before 5pm, but is still stuck along the Coastal Highway, you might as well embrace one of the potential causes of traffic jam (Queensbay) and catch a late-night movie at 12am. Provided you can reach there on time. And the theater is open.
9. If you get marooned in the office, turn your office into a helicopter. This is when the hallucination kicks in.
10. Just take a full-day leave. You deserve a rest. Your bosses probably won't come either.

PEA sale
on sunday, there was a lil food fare where the eurasians are given the chance to sell their food to earn a lil extra pocket money... so mum took the chance... she made plans for this a month earlier, doing her research on what food to sell, the prices and of course how much would her untung be! hahaha... at least she's keeping herself busy by doing things she likes...
mum took up about 4 tables for her lil stall where by the other ladies just took up 2 tables... they didn't really brought much to sell, i guess they were just "testing" the waters and were too scared to take the risk to sell and maybe have a loss... well it IS known that eurasians are not good businessmen.. hahahah.. i may be wrong.. (don't hate me)
mum and her food!
dad's first time manning a stall... he gets easily excited! hahah
so mum got someone to cook devils curry with rice and veg, got some friend beehoon, she made rojak, some indian vadek and tried selling her salt fish prada (using Aunty Bah's portugese recipie) and green chilly pickle... we were there early to set the tables and arrange the food and the ppl started to come in by 10am (after morning mass)....
all went well especially the Devil's curry and beehoon, though the rojak didn't do well as the fruits were getting all watery... mum managed to sell half of her pickle bottles... so hope ppl will taste it and would want to order more from her... it's nice i tell u....
there were others selling cakes and tarts and puffs... which were lovely too... we had a reporter from the News Straits Times taking pics of the food (i think i took better pics! heheh) and interviewed the VP of the PEA... we're just wondering which issue would mum's face appear.. hahahha... check it out!

bad bad bad
yesterday was worst that that friday where i slept at the side of the road in the car cause of bad traffic jam!!
after work, i was to be out with some friends to meet up for some dinner, so a friend of mine followed me from work, it took us 3 hrs! to get to town! the traffic was horrible! there was some trailers having accidents (though the link said it was cleared by 3.45pm the traffic was still there till i finished work at 5pm and onwards!! makes no difference man!) on the penang bridge.. and... it's the school holidays.. and it's a friday evening.. so EVERYONE wants to get out from penang.. thus.. TRAFFIC JAM!
this time i couldn't stop at the side of the road and sleep cause i had a friend with me.... so had to crawl in the traffic for 3 hrs... by the time we reached to town, we were dead tired! so after hanging out it was 11+pm and i'm thinking good, sure no jam at this hour! heck i was soooo wrong! when i reached Tesco, the jam started from there till the bridge which means another 2 to 3 hrs in the jam!! and since i'm working the next day (at 6am mind you) i decided to spend the night at LeNid....
felt so bad waking Anna up at midnite but i'm thankful that she was around to let me in.. if not, i'll have to sleep at work.... sigh....
and now, i just found out that at 7 something yesterday there was another accident/breakdown on the bridge which cause the traffic till 11 something when i found out.. sigh....
penang is really bad right?
